Public Trips

1½ hours trip

From Easter until the end of October you can join a 1½ hours trip to Marsworth and back.

From Pitstone Wharf the boat heads south passing another marina and a local boat club before ascending through two locks. After the two locks the boat continues south passing a back pumping station and an old thatched building that was once a coaching inn. Marsworth's old village wharf - still in use by British Waterways - is soon reached and the boat turns in the entrance to the Aylesbury arm of the canal to return via the same route to Pitstone Wharf.

Although reservations are not essential, we strongly advise that you reserve your seat(s) in advance, by telephoning +44 (0) 1296 661920 beforehand.

Cream Tea trip

These 3 hours trips operates on Wednesdays and Sundays from 1 June until 30 September.

Seats on these trips must be booked in advance.

This trip also heads south from Pitstone Wharf and follows the same route as our 1½ hour trip as far as the Aylesbury arm. Beyond the arm the trip ascends through a further three locks alongside the Marsworth reservoirs at Startops End. Passengers may alight from the boat at Marsworth and walk along the canal towpath to sample the delights of the reservoirs, whilst the boat works through the three locks. Embarkation is at the third lock, just before the boat turns to return to Pitstone Wharf. Your cream tea is served on the return part of the journey.

These trips are ideal for individuals and for groups that are too small in number to charter a complete boat. They operate subject to the availability of our boats and sufficient passengers booking.

A £5 non-refundable deposit is payable at the time of booking, with the balance payable on the day of travel.

¾ hour trip

At Christmas you can join a ¾ hour themed trip that follows the same route as our 1½ hours trip as far as the first lock. There our boat turns without entering the lock and returns to Pitstone Wharf.

Children receive a present from Father Christmas and Adults receive a glass of punch and a mince pie on our Santa trips.

Reservations are compulsory for these trips. Please telephone +44 (0) 1296 661920 to reserve your seats.

Drinks and snacks are available on all scheduled trips.

Reserved tickets must be collected fifteen minutes before departure time of the trip.

Passengers cannot alight from the boat during the 1½ hours and Santa trips.

We very much regret that the well deck design of our passenger boats makes them unsuitable for the accommodation of wheelchair bound passengers on our public trips. This is due to space constraints and for reasons of safety and access.

Trip durations are liable to variation at busy times.
