Grebe Canal Cruises Ltd came under new management in 2010 and the new owners, Cecilia and Ian, look forward to welcoming new and returning clients during the 2012 season.
We have listed a selection of cruise options that we are able to offer, we are flexible and if these choices don’t quite fit your requirements please do not hesitate to contact us as we will do our best to arrange a cruise to suit your needs.
Afternoon Tea
Why not enjoy the country side with a traditional Afternoon Tea? Complimented by white linen and bone china, you will be served with selection of dainty sandwiches with a variety of fillings. In addition, scones, cakes and a selection of other pastries will be served with a choice of tea’s from around the world, all whilst cruising on the Grand Union Canal.
Cream Tea
Continuing our highly successful Cream Tea (which consists of 2 scones, jam, cream, a slice of Victoria sponge and a choice of tea or coffee) these will be available in a 2 hour or 3 hour format. The 2 hour will turn in the Aylesbury Arm but the 3 hour will climb a further 3 locks as it heads towards the Tring Summit. The longer format allows Clients to walk along side the Tring Reservoirs enjoying the beauty of the Chiltern Country side before re-joining the boat for the Cream Tea and the run home.
Music & Memories
Introducing our resident musician, Mike Ruff, why not join us for a sing-a-long selection of 1940’s, Old Time Musical hall or War time classics as you enjoy a cup of tea upon the Grand Union Canal.
Mikes repertoire includes over 1000 songs and can be tailored to suit your group and/or requests along the way. Includes tea & biscuits and a 2 hour cruise.
Sunday Roast
After an extremely successful trial in 2010, we are now offering a first class roast lunch provided by our catering partners ‘Cuisine Excellence’.
The two hour cruise includes a two course roast of the day, complete with fresh vegetables and a home made dessert followed by coffee and chocolates.
Soup and Roll Cruise
Your clients can choose from a choice of Soups and 2 different rolls whilst enjoying a 2hr cruise through Marsworth Village.
Ploughman’s Lunch Cruise
As with the cream tea, this is available in a 2 hour or 3 hour format. During the cruise you will be served with a ploughman’s lunch consisting of a cottage roll, 2 wedges of cheese, salad garnish, butter, pickle, pickled onion and coleslaw.
A Canal dash
If you need a break on a long haul (holiday) trip, then we can provide a short 45min cruise from our base up to the first lock and back. Serving bottomless tea and Coffee, and complimented by a selection of biscuits, this trip offers an insight to the canals and their beauty whilst breaking up the monotony of a long coach trip.
90 minute Canal Ride
This cruise leaves our base and winds its way into the beautiful village of Marsworth before turning in the recently re-opened Aylesbury Arm. Incorporating 2 locks, your skipper will provide an interesting commentary on this very historic section of the Grand Union Canal. Each boat has a fully equipped licensed bar which is open for the duration of the trip.
Christmas Mulled Wine Cruise
After a hard days Christmas shopping, we are offering a 2 hour afternoon/early evening cruise including mulled wine and mince pies to the accompaniment of seasonal carols.
This cruise is designed to allow you to recover some of that festive spirit lost during the trials of Christmas shopping.
Christmas Buffet Cruise
To break up the stress of a full day’s Christmas shopping why not join us for a Christmas buffet lunch aboard our festively decorated, luxury boat Countess. Christmas carols playing softly in the background whilst you enjoy a two course finger buffet.
