Welcome to Grebe Canal Cruises - in the heart of the Chiltern Hills
Grebe Canal Cruises Ltd. are a long established pleasure boating business (located just outside Tring in the village of Pitstone) on the Grand Union Canal. Here, the Canal meanders, unmolested by the rigours of 21st Century Life, through some of Englands finest countryside as it struggles to climb from Leighton Buzzard to Bulbourne, along the famous Tring summit, before dropping on its long slow onward southward journey to London.
Public Cruises.
Our 2 large trip boats run a scheduled day service all through the summer offering vistors a unique insight into life on the canal. Join the boat at Pitstone for a 90 minute cruise through two locks and the village of Marsworth before returning to Pitstone. For something a bit more ambitious, then we offer a 3 hr Cream Tea or Afternoon Tea cruise which heads a further three locks up the flight, past the famous Tring Resevoirs, before turning and returning to Pitstone. For the evenings we are pleased to welcome back our evening dinner cruises. Alternating between Friday (Fish & Chip Menu) and Saturday (formal Three Couse set Dinner) thro the summer. The Link to the schedule is here and booking for all our scheduled services is essentail
Charters.
Both our 2 large trip boats are available for private charter party bookings or excursions for larger groups, organisations or Coach parties. For larger groups and parties this offers exclusive service on the boats but also widens the choice from the standard scheuled services (ie Cream Tea / Afternoon Teas) to include a variety of alternative food & entertainment options.
For lunch time or evening charters, we can offer a range of food options to compliment your cruise, either via the Waterside Cafe, via a handpicked selection of prefered outside caterers or you, the client, are welcome to bring your own caterers to do your own catering.
Dayboats.
Our fleet of Self-Steer Day Boats offer the family the perfect opertunity to have a day out with a difference. All three boats are licensed for 12 (although 'Dabchick' is more suited to 10) and all have roll up sides to enjoy the best of the british summer. With Cruise options to the North, the South or down the Aylebury or Wendover arms, the canal and the locks take you back 200 years in history whilst offering every age group the opportunity to take part. We offer an extensive explanation of the boat and canal etiquette ensuring you get the most from your experience.
